Beijing Games Award

Post by UAL1277 Kevin Finch » November 29th, 2021, 3:17 am

We will echo the award model we employed for the Tokyo summer games for the upcoming Beijing winter games award: two flights to qualify for the Bronze award and two flights to qualify for the Silver award; when you complete both the Bronze and the Silver awards, you qualify for the Gold award. You qualify for all three awards by completing four flights.

To qualify for the Bronze level, fly one of your nation's Olympic athletes from their place of residence or where they train (your choice) to your nation's capital between January 18 and February 1, 2022. Between February 20 and February 27, fly the return flight from your nation's capital to the airport from which you flew your first leg. (vUAL pilots resident in the People's Republic of China will fly from the city of their choice to Shanghai (ZSPD).)

To qualify for the Silver level, fly your national team from your nation's capital to ZBAA Beijing between January 18 and February 1, 2022. Fly the return flight from RJAA Narita to the capital between February 20 and February 27, 2022. (vUAL pilots resident in the People's Republic of China will fly from Shanghai (ZSPD) to Beijing (ZBAA).)

To qualify for the Gold level, complete the two Beijing Games Bronze flights and the two Beijing Games Silver flights, as described.

Use the Excel tracking sheet in the Downloads section to record your progress towards the award(s) and send it to your hub manager when you complete your flights. If you don't use Excel, it should open in several freeware spreadsheet programs, Microsoft's online Excel app, or you can cut and paste your flight information into an e-mail to your hub manager.

Between your arrival in Beijing and your departure for home, you might want to complete some other awards in the region: China tour, Shenzen Hubs tour, Far East Cities tour , Japan Tour and Japan 2 tours.

Re: Beijing Games Award - Typo?

Is this part a typo in the Silver section?

"Fly the return flight from RJAA Narita to the capital between February 20 and February 27, 2022."

Yes, it is. It should read:

To qualify for the Silver level, fly your national team from your nation's capital to ZBAA Beijing between January 18 and February 1, 2022. Fly the return flight from ZBAA Beijing to your capital between February 20 and February 27, 2022. (vUAL pilots resident in the People's Republic of China will fly from Shanghai (ZSPD) to Beijing (ZBAA).)

Sorry; I don't have access to edit the award text anymore.
