FMMI airport in P3D

Post by UAL1277 Kevin Finch » May 6th, 2021, 10:24 am

Just flew the first leg of the Africa 2 award and came face to face with this P3D v4.5 anomaly: a real-life lake near the end of FMMI/Madagascar's Rwy 29 has morphed into a lake and a waterfall a few hundred feet above the airport, or more likely, the airport is below the surrounding scenery. Orbx Global and Africa landclass and mesh installed but not Vector. Anyone else run into this or know how to fix it?

I posted a similar message in the Orbx forums; it's a known issue.

https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/189 ... -problems/

There is a similar post in LM's P3D support forums, too. https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopi ... MI#p202207

In essence, Orbx referred me to an earlier similar post (https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/205 ... fmmi-area/) that said to install Vector; I own it but found I spend too much time tweaking it so I didn't install it after the rebuild. As well, they said to install the freeware Freemesh X.

In the end, the winds were favourable to a take-off away from the anomaly, so I didn't do install Vector or Freemesh.
