Greetings pilots.

I would like to wish all the dads out there a Happy Father’s Day tomorrow.

The main purpose of this note is to inform/remind everyone that we are holding our 10th Anniversary Flight EVENT on Saturday, July 10. This is a big event for us, and I have a request to all the pilots of this VA:

On July 10:

I want to see AT LEAST 100 VUAL pilots make the flight from KORD to KIAH. I don’t care if you fly on VATSIM (preferred), or offline using our ACARS. I don’t care what plane or flight sim program you use.

I want to see the Live Flight Map on our homepage filled with one route only: KORD – KIAH.

I want to see the Recent Arrivals board on our homepage show one route only: KORD – KIAH. All 20 slots, one route only: KORD - KIAH.

I want to see VUAL pilots making a line between KORD and KIAH on VATSPY. You can be flying into KORD to position for the EVENT flight, or fly out of KIAH after the EVENT flight, but that is it.

I want to see UAL planes landing at KIAH while there are still UAL planes lined up to take off at KORD.

I want to hear that the ARTCCs complain that we had too many participants in the EVENT, & they were not staffed properly, and its all Kevin Finch’s fault.

If you can make a flight for us on July 10, there is only one route available: KORD – KIAH. If you are a point-to-point flyer, you have 3 weeks from today to figure out how to get your plane to KORD in time for the event. If you are not a point-to-point flyer, then warp yourself to KORD on July 10, and fly in the EVENT. Its that simple.

Is this too much to ask? I really don't think so. I am only looking for 100 pilots, out of 477 on our active roster: 20% of the VA.

One flight, one day. I am asking for as many of you as possible to sign up and fly in this event. After its done, you can go back to flying whatever routes you like, whenever you like.

The event starts at 1600 ZULU. For those of you who are ZULU time challenged, here is a summary for our US-based pilots.

1600 ZULU =

12 NOON EASTERN TIME

11AM CENTRAL TIME

10AM MOUNTAIN TIME

9AM PACIFIC TIME

Currently we have 11 pilots signed up and that is just not good enough. Sign up now!! Even if you forget to sign up, you can still fly in the event – Saturday, July 10 1600Z. You can be assured I will be looking at our site, VATSPY, and counting the PIREPS during and after the EVENT to see how many pilots came along for the ride.

I look forward to seeing you all somewhere between Chicago O’Hare and Houston Intercontinental on Saturday, July 10.
